NVIDIA Earth-2, a family of open AI models and tools, is being used by the University of Manchester to forecast air pollution across the UK. The University of Manchester has generated a UK-wide pollution model using Earth-2 CorrDiff, a generative downscaling model, and Earth-2 StormCast, a model that enables time-dependent forecasts. The model can run on the NVIDIA DGX Spark personal AI supercomputer, and the team plans to release open source training data and workflows for the pollution models. The NVIDIA DGX Spark desktop AI system is available for inference and smaller training runs, with a price point of a few thousand dollars.
