Meta has begun deploying Media over QUIC (MoQ) for live video ingest on Instagram Live on iOS and Android. MoQ is an emerging IETF standard that enables low-latency, scalable media delivery over the QUIC transport layer. Instagram Live now uses MoQ as its transport protocol for live video ingest. MoQ is being developed collaboratively at the IETF with participation from Meta, Google, Akamai, Cisco, Cloudflare, and academia.
